Great book/series for boys:
My 9 year old son read this series in just a few days and then when he was done, he started again from the beginning because they were so good.
Excellent Gift Book for Elementary-age Grandson:
My grandson, a 9 1/2-year-old reader, loved this book -a gift from me, his nana. The book is filled with ancient history, which is written in a way that is highly appealing to young readers. As a former reading specialist and library media specialist, I would recommend this book for upper elementary age through middle school.
